Globalization, online models, mobility, AI and other technology are shaping ever more dynamic conditions of work. The constant across generations: people make the difference. So prioritize them.

How do you work?

Every job requires results: the software engineer must create productive platforms, the manager run a team to success, the lawyer complete transactions. The WHAT is usually clear. But HOW do we get there?

It’s a key question, but it receives far less attention, in school, university, even on the job itself. Surprisingly, when it comes to how to work, we are more or less on our own.

The team win, the sales hit, the full career: each is founded on professional qualities. It’s who you are on the job. Many of these qualities are in fact straightforward, yet we cannot take them for granted – and that is where THIS WORKS comes in.

My own experience

I am Erik Wilbers, a Dutch professional based in Switzerland.

My career has given me the chance to build and manage global services delivered by high-performing teams. As I gained experience, I developed personal ideas about what worked and why. Each day on the job, I applied and shared these ideas. I have now recorded them.

THIS WORKS offers 300 proven principles and practices organized around Attitude, Communication, Creation, Delivery, Human, Leadership, Quality, Rules, and Tech. In each of these areas, I identify ways that can work for everyone – in any job, at any level.

Committed to people?

THIS WORKS may be of interest to human resources departments, company management, performance consultants, and career coaches.

Whether as discussion points, training material, test ideas, career advice, personal challenges, daily reminders, retreat inspiration, or strategic pointers, THIS WORKS provides a practical platform for professional development.
